Pages from Each Book

I believe that throughout our lives we are given pages of rules that we are supposed to obey with regard to our gender. The first page is the color hat and blanket that we are given when we are born: blue for boys, pink for girls.

Next we are given pages on what toys we should play with, who are friends should be, what we should wear and how we should interact with others.

I live my life as someone who borrowed the "Boy's Rulebook" and then took my favorite pages from the boy's and girl's rulebooks and shuffled them together to make "Shane's Gender Rulebook." It is a unique book with the best of both worlds. This is how I live my life.

Claiming Space in Cyberland!

It is time for me to claim my space in cyberland. This is the beginning of me writing and sharing my thoughts with the world. This will be a work in progress. I'm much more comfortable talking than writing so this might be a challenging at times. I've been told that I should write like I speak -- not sure how possible that is -- but I going to try :-)
